U.S. Rafting

Come experience some peace and quiet away from it all.  Lodging specials throughout the winter only $30pp/per night.  You & your friends will have your own room in our B&B style house (minus the breakfast – ha, ha).  You can hike into see the ‘Moxie Falls’ Waterfall with the beautiful Fall Foliage setting, drive around and catch a glimpse of a Maine Moose or just sit back with a book and relax.  It’s the perfect getaway, and cheap too!  – Reservations are required!!!

It’s been a great 2011’ season but the fun isn’t over yet!  We’re heating up for the Holidays – here’s your chance to purchase a great deal to raft the ‘DEAD RIVER’ next season 2012’.  The Natural progression of rafting in Maine begins with the Kennebec river and then graduates to the Dead river & then onto the Penobscot river “THE NOB”.  If you had fun with us on the Kennebec this year and you’re looking for something more aggressive, perhaps you try the DEAD RIVER?  Do you think you Flatlanders have what it takes to paddle the mighty Dead?  Well do ya’ chummy?

The Dead River has limited releases of different levels throughout the season.  (3500cfs, 5500cfs & 7000cfs levels).  The Dead at any level is more aggressive than the Kennebec and if you want to try another river but you’re not ready to swim the gorge then perhaps a 3500cfs release is what you are looking for and is our recommendation from U.S. Rafting.

U.S. Rafting has moved their operating base to 2981 US Route 201, West Forks, ME 04985, now known as the “Outpost”.

Located on the National Scenic Byway, Route 201 also known as the Kennebec-Chaudiere road, a primary highway to Canada and just steps from the Dead River. The West Forks is the center of outdoor recreation in western Maine and attracts visitors each season who come to enjoy the area’s many activities.

The Outpost can sleep up to 20 people in 5 separate bedrooms. The warm and cozy interior has plenty of room to entertain and the wrap-around deck is the perfect venue to watch the sunset over the Dead River.
